Trail Ridge Road is the road that connects the East Side (Estes Park) of Rocky Mountain National Park to the West Side (Grand Lake). It’s known for quick weather changes, wildlife and crazy cyclists looking for a high-altitude challenge.
I’ve been over this road so many times — it’s my favorite place to bring people visiting for the weekend because it’s the fastest way to see what the Colorado mountains are really like. I’ve seen it in the sunshine, experienced hail and a few weekends ago, watched it disappear into the clouds.
Here are a few shots from our drive.
